Expressing Gratitude

Over the course of the year it is easy to get caught up in the moment and lose perspective on the things that are most important to each of us.cornucopia-1789664_1920
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to take a moment to remember what we appreciate and what we hold most dear.

Here at Johns Eastern, we are thankful for our family, our health, and our security. However, we felt that is was also important not to discount the impact that our daily work environment can have on our lives. So, we asked some of our employees to take a moment to share what they are grateful for at work and from their coworkers, team members, and leaders.

“I’m really grateful for my supervisor Ellen Johnson. Every time I have a problem she always helps me and assures me that there’s no reason to ever worry about some of the more complicated parts of my job. She is good at educating me and helping me work through any questions I have, and I really appreciate it as she never stops being helpful while also maintaining a reassuring smile every time.”

Thomas Ely,
Lead Bill Reviewer

“I’m thankful for the many blessings that have been bestowed upon me from my family to my life to my career. If I were to choose one thing that I’m most grateful for within JE it would be the people. Each individual within the company is an incredible driving force and when we all work together as one mechanism, moving in the same direction, amazing accomplishments can be attained.”

Greg Burden,
Quality Assurance Manager

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work here at Johns Eastern.

We have a great group of managers that oversee the claims department. They are always willing to assist us with our daily needs and questions in a timely manner. I have a great team of adjusters and nurses, always willing to assist when needed and to go the extra mile to help out. Our supervisor team is also an awesome team to work alongside of.

So I guess I am grateful for a bunch of things.”

Roz Williams,
Claims Supervisor

“I am thankful for the all staff members who, when called upon or not, consistently step up to the plate and get the job done without hesitation or reservation. It is their work ethic and integrity which drives our continued success.”

Stephen Yerger,
Branch Manager

“I am truly thankful to have a job that provides regular challenges and incredibly rewarding work. I am grateful to have collaborated with so many wonderful people during the past 30 years at Johns Eastern.”

Beverly Adkins,
Executive Vice President

“I am so grateful to work with this amazing team. Jim Milner is so incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated. He takes the time to answer any questions I might have, and is always available to help me. I am truly blessed to work alongside our amazing adjusters, our super hard working supervisors and wonderful support staff.”

Elizabeth Nunez,
Loss Fund Administrator

“When thinking about the eventful year I have had since joining Johns Eastern Company I can’t feel anything but grateful. One of the biggest sources of my appreciation for this company has been the opportunity they granted me to develop myself for a new career path. My move to Sarasota has been full of challenges and the work itself has been difficult and demanding, but it is only through change and struggle that good things come to fruition.

As I underwent changes in my own life to work here it has also been clear that the company itself has been undergoing a transformative period. Growth and change are rarely comfortable, but are of the utmost necessity for improvement. Despite the many changes this company has had, I have noticed that one thing has not changed, the spirit of the employees who make working here a pleasure.

What I am grateful for on a daily basis are the people that surround me. Since moving here I have been treated with nothing but respect and kindness from everyone from my peers to my supervisors. I appreciate everyone’s willingness to help. I have not encountered a person who has not made themselves available to assist when necessary. Above all I enjoy the great sense of humor of the majority of my coworkers which can help unburden some of the stress of a difficult day. This Thanksgiving I am grateful for the chance to laugh and learn alongside my team here at JECO.”

Edwin Torres,
Lost Time Adjuster

“I am grateful for the growth that I have received during my tenure with Johns Eastern. I have learned to embrace change, and challenges, and utilize them as ‘Opportunities with work clothes’.”

Bernadette Anthon
TPA Liability Claims Supervisor

“I am very thankful for my Professional Growth with Johns Eastern Company, Inc. I have enjoyed all of the friendships and people that I have met over the past 20 years as I moved from Adjuster Trainee to Branch Manager of the Maryland Office. Each day that I walk into the office I am reminded of truly how blessed I am. Also, I am grateful for an amazing staff that works with me to embody the family atmosphere that Johns Eastern Company was built on. As we all know, handling claims presents certain challenges, but I am so proud of the entire Maryland office as we have supported each other thru the highs and lows of this year. I couldn’t do it without you. Happy Holidays to everyone in the Maryland Office. I look forward 2017 and hope that we continue to build and reach even greater heights.”

Darryl Hopkins,
Branch Manager

“I am thankful for those here in the Blue Bell office as I see daily how each of us communicate, learn and grow together as a team. From the newest employees to the supervisors who have been here for many years and Cori, our admin., we value one another’s hard work and dedication to strive and become not only better JECO employees but as better people overall.

Three people I want to highlight in the office:

I can always count on Cori Carpenter for a pleasant good morning smile, even on a gloomy Monday morning (and some days this can change my entire mood around).

I can always count on Stephen Yerger to make sure that not only myself, but all employees are feeling comfortable and confident in the work we do each day. Even on the busiest of days, he will always show his appreciation for you as an employee.

Jim Farr is one employee who can relate to everyone and anyone by sharing life stories, jokes and making employees feel at ease even during some of the more challenging files we handle. If he doesn’t know an answer to a question, he will always make it a point to sit down with you and work through the situation together.

These three people along with all of the other adjusters and TPA unit make me thankful to come to a job where I feel valued and appreciated.

Karlee Huttenlock,
Claims Adjuster

We strive to provide an environment for our employees that encourages them and offers them unique opportunities and challenges to grow and learn. As such, we are especially thankful this year and ever year for every member of our team and their help in cultivating such an inspiring workplace.
