Purely Psychiatric Injuries Covered for First Responders in Florida

The Pulse nightclub tragedy in Orlando exposed the fact that Florida workers’ compensation law did not recognize post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as an injury for first responders.  On October 1, 2018, a new law went into effect for the benefit of first responders to include purely psychiatric injuries absent physical injuries.
